this blog really looked dead, and for awhile I thought it was =P
Been really busy these few months, with my tech course ongoing as well as trying to find time to mug for my As, which I am currently in the process of retaking =/ Oh well, two times is the charm i hope. Tech course has been ultra fun, and it totally redefined the preception of stay-in that I had (strict regimentation, little or no free time, monotonous, etc...) It feels more like a study camp or something, with the day mostly filled with lessons but with plenty of free time after office hours, i.e. 5.30pm. I managed to squeeze some As mugging in between all those course tests, which wasn't much but hopefully sufficient.
Oh well, course is ending soon and I must say I'll be sorry to leave Air Force School. It's been a wonderful 6 weeks ++ with a totally different bunch of people, i.e. poly and ITE grads, which totally changed some presumptions I had. Guess it's been an enlightening experience talking to them, working and living with them. I initially thought it was going to be quite a horrible course, being the only JC dude around (yes, it's true), but the peeps didn't ostracize me or anything, haha.
Currently half-way through my re-As, which is really quite sad, but it was pretty interesting to meet other unfortunate NSFs like me trying to make time for our exams. Can't really blame anyone but myself for my state of affairs though, should have mugged harder...
Hm...so far have taken my GP, Chem and Physics paper 3, and both Mathematics papers. Maths paper 1 was honestly a bloodbath, and I was thoroughly massacred for 3 hours straight. Which was my fault of course, since i didn't practise enough questions =( Saw a couple of questions that I had seen before but just couldn't recall the steps, which made it all the more fustrating. Paper 2 was comparatively better, since I did mug my guts out the night before (not literally of course), and did a 2.4km run before I began
my revision. Somehow that helped calm my rather turbulent thoughts, and I could focus better after that I guess. Running on a cool evening under a starry sky certainly rocks, for the record.
Chem and Physics Paper 3 were pretty okay, though I would feel better if I could make sure my answers were correct =P And I finally set a new record of finally completing my AQ for paper 2 during an
actual GP exam, something that I was unable to do, somehow, during JC. Took abit of a paradigm shift to achieve that I must say, but it worked out pretty well. Just a little distraught over those few short-ans qns that I didn't manage to complete.
Finally it's a weekend, and a short respite before the next round of exams begin next week. Hopefully I'll be able to brush up on my weaker topics before monday comes knocking my door. And that's all for now, a rather brief summary that wouldn't do justice to the most eventful past few months that have just passed. More for another time. See y''all.
life seems to be full of surprises, as usual. 3 months ago I would never have imagined myself being posted to a non-combat vocation, and down with a knee injury, which the doc says would almost guarantee plus chop that i'll get arthritis when i hit middle age (hmm...).
oh well, BMT was definitely an enjoyable experience, despite my initial apprehension before enlistment. I really enjoyed the camaraderie that was evident throughout the entire 9-week course, as we went through all the trainings and tekan-ing. It was probably also that most of us went in without an inkling of what's going on made it easier to bond with our fellow platoon mates. Whatever the case, BMT will always be one of the memorable times of my life. Orion 1 all the way!! =X
